We have been traveling all over Ohio and to a couple of out-of-state places to work on fundraising. Things have been going well, and we have raised an incredible amount of funds with the help of church families all over the place, including brand new church families that we called as strangers, spoke in services, and then left as friends, as well as connections and friendships from long ago that we were able to revitalize.
The Nazarene Network never ceases to amaze us both. It seems like at every Nazarene church we go visit there is someone who:
a) knew Elizabeth’s parents
c)knows professors we’ve had
d)has kids we went to school with at MVNU or
e)one or more of these things!
It’s been really incredible to see the connections made, maintained, and revitalized.
We’ve talked to a class at Mount Vernon Nazarene University about ourselves and the story God is telling that we get to partcipate in. We’ve been to Greenville First Nazarene, Sciotoville Nazarene, Hebron, North Vernon, Logan, Fayette, and Marietta Nazarenes (and maybe more). Last week we did a sermon and mission service in Spanish at Carthage Nazarene. It was challenging for us both, but a very rewarding and rich experience to have that point of contact across language and cultural barriers.
We’ve even been able to cross denominational lines in this adventure. We spoke at a combined service with other international workers at Clear Fork Alliance Church. Tomorrow we are going to speak at Paul’s home church, St. Paul Lutheran Church.
We’re having a pancake breakfast and lunch (pancakes are great any time of day) fundraiser at St. Paul’s in Bellville Ohio November 13, so if you are in the area for that
come on out and ask us about anything!
We’ve made incredible progress on our funding, but we still have a long way to go to reach our goal.
We would love for you to become a partner with us in our venture as we follow the calls we have received
through the 365m program. Visit:
